The Tune Playing Is:"I Am Sound"
Poems
One
One against an Army
The odds are even
Peace is what I fight For.
Trained for peace and Life.
To fight alone as an Army
One man to make the difference
Can I survive?
One against an Army
The odds are even
Peace is what I fight for
My badge is a beret of green
One against an Army
The odds are even.
Trained for peace and life.
To fight alone as an Army
One against an Army
The odds are even

Dawn
Orange blending into blue over shadows of gray
White and gray puffs drifting past the shadows
Darkness turning to light as the end of another night
Dew on the grass glistening in the light
A lone bird sings with the coming of light
The shadows take on a new shape in the light
The dawn of a new day puts an end to the night.

Vietnam A Political War Story
Vietnam a political war story a war fought
by the American Soldier
and commanded by the Politicians
A war in which all the battles
were won, but the war lost.
When the soldiers returned
they were greeted by angry citizens.
They, the American Soldier was
the blame for the war in Vietnam,
Was the cry through out the land,
Oh why did not the politicians take
the blame. After all it was their war!
Instead the politicians left the blame
on the American Soldier.
The American Soldier now in shame
hid and lowered his head, Still not
understanding just what They did
Then the Politician to increase the
shame, gave amnesty to those who ran away,
to hide in other countries.
These men had not shown loyalty to their
Country, they had no patriotism
who said they were not Americans.
These men were given a warm welcome home.
While the American soldier who
held the scars, and the memory of war,
had been made to feel like an outcast in
the very Country that sent him to war.
While in Washington the Politician
tried to bury the war.
Now there is a new war, one started
by the Ex-American Soldiers, this time
in the political world here at home.
A war in which they do not use
guns or other weapons of war
But a political war played by their
rules, the politician's rules in their own field.
This is a war not yet ended,
but slowly the battles are being won.
Someday the Vietnam Veteran will lift
his head, from his undue shame put
there by the Politicians. And someday
maybe the politicians will except their blame.
Then and only then will the Vietnam Veteran
an Ex-American Soldier really feel welcomed home.
Yes Vietnam was a Political War Story.
A war fought by the American Soldier,
and Commanded by the Politicians

The Vietnam Era Veteran
The Vietnam era Veteran who did not go to Vietnam,
but served during the same time period is an outcast.
By not only his country, but by the Vietnam Veteran,
never asked how he felt or where he fit.
He too has to bare an unearned guilt, and shame placed on him,
by his country, politicians, and his fellow Veterans.
His country punishes him with the same blame,
placed on all the Vietnam Veterans.
His fellow Veterans punishes him because he did not go!
They have seemed to forgot that he to, was ready,
but he was not chose, But sent elsewhere.
The politicians punishes him the same as
his counterpart who went to Vietnam.
Not a word is spoken by anyone to help this Veteran.
Yet still his heart lies with his fellow Veterans,
hoping that someday at least they will except them.
To their aid he will come without an invitation,
against all foes, to assist where they can
these Veterans of Vietnam.
And nothing in return, has he asked, for in his
heart is only hope that someday, that these Veterans
of Vietnam will except him, for if the truth be
known he does belong with them, those Veterans of Vietnam.
