There is an abundance of value hidden inside of you, more than
you could possibly imagine. Yet as long as you continue to follow
the same old routine, seeing the same people every day, sitting
in front of the TV, never venturing out of your comfort zone,
that value will remain hidden and unreachable.
The way to uncover your hidden value is to put yourself on the
line, to get involved in life. Attempt something challenging, meet
new people, stretch your limits, see new places, and subject yourself
to new experiences. Challenge and intensity will uncover in you skills,
talents, abilities and interests you never knew you had.
You are full of wonderful possibilities. Do something with them.
The most painful regrets, those which never go away, are regrets
for things not done, things never attempted.
Every day is an opportunity to live, to really live and experience.
Grab that opportunity today, and make the most of it. Live the abundance
that you already have. Claim the richness of life that is yours even now.
Be the passionate, fully alive person you were born to be. Live your
unique value and delight in the wonder and beauty of it all.
Ralph Marston
Like the little old lady who returned your wallet yesterday.
Like the taxi driver who told you that your eyes light up the world,
when you smile.
Like the small child who showed you the wonder in simple things.
Like the poor man who offered to share his lunch with you.
Like the rich man who showed you that it really is all possible,
if only you believe.
Like the stranger who just happened to come along, when you had lost your way.
Like the friend who touched your heart,
when you didn't think you had one to touch.
Angels come in all sizes and shapes,
all ages and skin types.
Some with freckles, some with dimples,
some with wrinkles, some without.
They come disguised as friends, enemies, teachers, students,
lovers and fools.
They don't take life too seriously,
they travel light.
They leave no forwarding address,
they ask nothing in return.
They wear sneakers with gossamer wings,
they get a deal on dry cleaning.
They are hard to find when your eyes are closed,
But they are everywhere you look, when you choose to see.

When was the last time anxiety knocked at your front door? Have
you ever met stress walking down the street? When did you ever
answer the telephone and discover anger on the other end of the line?
Things such as stress, anxiety and anger do not exist in real,
tangible form. They exist only in you and only with your cooperation.
They are not grown in a field or manufactured in a factory. They are
created in your head.
And as such, there is no need for you to "deal" with them or "resolve"
them. You have it in your power to simply annihilate them or, better
yet, to avoid giving birth to them in the first place.
Do not let your anxieties control you. Do not let them do anything.
Do not let them be. Just throw them away. What good are they? Why
allow them to clutter and complicate your life? It takes a lot of
energy to create and to maintain stress, anxiety and fear. Redirect
that energy toward something positive and creative. It's your energy.
It's your life. Use it to be joyful.
Ralph Marston
Are you discouraged? If you've invested enough effort and energy
to get to the point where you're discouraged, you're well on your
way to success. Discouragement is a certain waystation on the road
to any worthwhile achievement.
If you know enough to be discouraged, and if you care enough to be
discouraged, then you've made considerable progress. Learn what the
discouragement has to teach you and then continue moving forward.
It may seem as though you'll never make it, but in reality you already
are. It would be a shame to be stopped by mere discouragement. It is
there to temper and harden you, not to stop you.
Be discouraged for a little while. Reflect on your discouragement
and you'll discover that it is a result of your commitment. You've
already invested your time, your efforts, your life. Soon you'll
reap the full reward of that investment. Feel the discouragement
and let it spur you on.
Ralph Marston
Do you ever have a bleak day, when nothing seems to go right?
Do you ever feel trapped in a life of mediocrity? Are you ever
overwhelmed by all the things you must do before you can even
think about the things you'd like to do?
When thoughts of gloom and frustration overcome you, stop.
Stop right where you are, take out a piece of paper or open
a new document on your computer. Then write ten things for
which you are thankful. Keep writing until you have at least ten.
Once you've done that, your outlook will likely begin to change.
But keep going, and do one other thing. For each item you've listed,
think of a specific action you can take immediately which will express
your appreciation. Perhaps it is something you can do in return for
someone else, or perhaps it is something which will make better
use of a blessing you already have.
Give power and vigor to the good things already in your life, and
you'll bring more good things into your life. Fight the gloom and
despair by energizing your own abundance.
Ralph Marston
Should you find it hard to get to sleep
tonight; Just remember the
homeless family who has no bed to lie in.
Should you find yourself stuck in traffic;
don't despair. There are
people in this world for whom driving
is an unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work;
Think of the man who has been out of
work for the last three months.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad;
Think of the person who
has never known what it's like to
love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another
weekend; Think of the woman in
dire straits, working twelve hours a day,
seven days a week, to feed her family.
Should your car break down, leaving
you miles away from assistance, Think
of the paraplegic who would love
the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray
hair in the mirror; Think of the cancer
patient in chemo who wishes she had hair to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and
pondering; what is life all about,
what is my purpose? Be thankful, there are
those who didn't live long enough to
get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim
of other people's bitterness,
ignorance, smallness or insecurities;
Remember, things could be worse.
You could be them!!!
Should you decide to send this to a friend;
You might brighten someone's day!
