Campbell
Mrs. Minnie Goforth
Campbell was born in Iola, May 17, 1882, and passed away
at her home in Petrolia on October 25, 1918, Age 36
years, 5 months and 8 days. Her death was due to
pneumonia induced by the Spanish influenza.
She was united in marriage to J. W. Campbell, October 9,
1900 and to that union were born seven daughters and one
son, Hattie, Chester, Helen, Agnes, Catherine, Ruth,
Evelyn and Hazel who passed away in infancy.
Soon after her marriage she joined the Christian church
at Iola and though often far away from it still retained
her membership there and was a member until the day of
her death. She was also interested in and was a member of
the W.C.T.U. and loved to attend their meetings and add
her voice to those who stood for its principles.
She lived first at Iola then Kansas City then back to
Iola, thence to Petrolia which was her final home.
The death of Minnie Campbell occurred at the home in
Petrolia last night. She died of pneumonia after
suffering several days with influenza. The funeral will
be held tomorrow at the home of her father, Sam Wooten,
606 South Jefferson. Rev. A. P. Wilson will conduct the
funeral services. Highland cemetery will be the place of
burial.
Her interest in the work of the church did not lessen but
her unfortunate affliction of blindness made it
impossible for her to maintain her activity and she felt
keenly the great loss she suffered.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss, her mother, husband
and her children and a host of friends.
Burial was made on Sunday, October 27, at Highland
cemetery, Rev. Wilson of the Christian church
officiating.
