Spirit of the Wounded Horse, Inc.

SOWOHO, founded by Mitch Longley, is a non-profit organization committed to helping underprivileged, physically disabled Native Americans and other people around the world.

Sowoho projects have included working with the physically disabled communities of the Navajo and White Mountain Apache Nations, in Mexico City and Bosnia-Herzegovina among others.

The phrase, Spirit of the Wounded Horse, represents an analogy to the present situation many disabled people share throughout the world regarding the lack of rehabilitation services and/or opportunity. The spirit of the wounded horse can be compared to that of the disabled person ... a spirit fully aware of its potential and only waiting for the assistance to carry it out.
