THE HAWAIIAN CALENDAR / PLANNER
is the most comprehensive listing of
HAWAI`I-related happenings
in Hawai`i, the Mainland...and points beyond:

- Kindly submit new listings and updates on: concerts, lû`au, festivals, hula performances/ hô`ike, benefits, CD releases:

calendar@hawaiianlanguage.com

- Listings are FREE ($0.00) and without obligation. This is a NON-commercial site, maintained by volunteers, with the explicit intention to publicize Hawaiian events to a larger Internet readership. Although brand-new, THE HAWAIIAN CALENDAR is being visited by more than 1000 visitors a day, and that number keeps growing as folks have been generously sharing this site with others.

- Our readers tell us that THE HAWAIIAN CALENDAR helps them make plans and allows them to check back if they forget -- for scheduling upcoming events so they don't clash, for coordinating and meeting with family and friends at events, for planning trips to the Islands -- or elsewhere, and just finding out what's going on without having to check here, there, and everywhere.

Please include the following info on your event:

  • 1. Date and time
    2. Name of event
    3. Address of event venue
    4. Name of contact person, phone number/e-mail address
    5. Website address URL (if available)
    * Be sure to
    BOOKMARK this site and/or add its e-mail address so you can contact us immediately if there are changes.

- For concert listings, always check with Auntie Maria's Concert Calendar at http://www.mele.com . She is right up with the latest with accurate concert listings and further details.

- To those who have politely asked (mahalo!), as with any and all of the hawaiianlanguage.com pages, NO PERMISSION IS NEEDED to link THE HAWAIIAN CALENDAR to your pages. These pages are nâ makana aloha (gifts from the heart). Go right ahead and help yourself. "No need ask." *:-)

- These pages are maintained during non-work, free time (sometimes less free than others, so e kala mai (sorry!) ahead of time if litto bit lohi (slow) sometimes). Time has been COMMITTED to do this for the year 2000, then we'll assess if it has served its purpose of furthering the culture.

- THE HAWAIIAN CALENDAR was originally created as a family calendar for our own `ohana (big, extended, and far-flung), especially our `ôpio (young folks), to keep all informed and in touch daily with things Hawaiian. As you can see, it became more and we decided, "What da heck, let's share it with everybody who wishes to partake."

- Nothing is expected in return, as hawaiianlanguage.com is a makana ALOHA (gift of Aloha). If you wish, however, to practice the Hawaiian value of pâna`i like (reciprocity, "take-then-give back"), give back to Hawai`i, its culture, and its Aloha by forwarding this post to anyone you know who may benefit from any of the following:

* The Hawaiian Calendar
* Hawaiian Culture
* The Hula Pages
* Hawaiian Language
* Emergency Dog Links
