About search engines... The Web Search Connection is a one stop collection of general search engines, people locators, telephone directories, entertainment and travel guides, news, research, and reference resources. Search engines are useful tools used to help navigate the Internet to find information. By submitting a specific word or phrase describing what you are looking for produces a list of all the sites that contain that information. For example, if you plan to vacation in Florida and want to play golf, you might type and submit Florida golf courses in a search engine to find out where to play golf in Florida.

Many search engines were evaluated and the best in each category were selected to be represented on this site. Below is a "Search Tips" index with hints on how to enter keywords to insure that the request is submitted to obtain information efficiently and accurately. Experiment by trying out each search engine to find out which ones return the most relevant information and bookmark those that best suit your needs. It is hoped that this site will point the way to help you find what you are looking for and make your journey rewarding. Good luck and bon voyage.
