CORY MISHELEVICH
Your Return

I see a new day where relief comes early in the morning
where love discovers me at midnight
under the same dark expanse where you breathe.

I have spent years discovering you
in every face that I meet.
My dream was more than one of admiration.

You were the reason I began this adventure
and in every experience that I own
there is a part of you

loving me, urging me.
You are my unconscious
the calming voice of my childhood.

And I have forgiven you as I will again
Because on our next flight on earth
I will soar with you.

In another space I will be the last one
to discover your spirit
in a different pair of illuminating eyes

You give me wings
each time mine are broken
and for this I grant you freedom.
