Comments: What a wonderful site! We are in Jacksonville, Florida. Have recently built a pond (12 by 7 feet X 2 1/2 ft. deep) and are turning our back yard into wildlife habitat. Last weekend we purchased a number of plants for our butterfly garden including a milkweed complete with Monarch caterpillar. In two days he had left the plant and attached himself (herself?) to a leaf on another plant nearby. Day before yesterday he shed his skin and now we have a beautiful chrysalis hanging ---- just like your wonderful pictures. I am, too, taking a picture every day and we look forward hopefully to see this little fellow fly away. Now I have a question for you. Will this Monarch fly from here to Mexico? We seem to be a little out of the way perhaps. Should he not be doing "this" up North somewhere and then flying from there to Mexico? Is he lost? I have recently built a pond, approx. 12 feet by 7 feet and up to 3 ft. deep and we are establishing a butterfly garden in that area as well. Purchased some plants this weekend including a milkwee complete with a large Monarch caterpillar. Until now I did not know they stopped and bred here in Jacksonville, Florida. There were numerous ones at the butterfly garden we visited and where we got our plants. The butterfly garden at Disneyworld's Epc t center was our inspiration to build our bf garden. Comments: You will never realize just how much we enjoyed all your information and fantastic pictures on the monarch's. We were in Michigan and brought 4 caterpillars home with us to Ohio....we have 4 grandchildren ages 4-9 and they each had one. What a marvelous experience. All 4 have flown off to Mexico now, but we have all enjoyed each moment, from stopping along the 8 hour ride home to get milkweed to watching the entire beautiful creation from caterpillar to butterfly. God's work is unbelie able. I wanted you to know how much your pictures and explanations of what to watch for, and what wouuld happen.....made the experience even more wonderful. These past 2 weeks have been a memory that none of us will ever forget in a lifetime. The way you wrote it out made it so easy to understand also. Looking at it from the eyes of a child....for our 4 grandchildren to see. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts. Sharon
