Class Timetable |
Rangimarie MCH offers a full 3-6 Montessori programme with extension
classes for 4.5 - 6 year olds.
Morning Class:
Monday to Friday 9 am to 12 pm
Extended Day children stay for lunch at school. There is no educational difference between the morning and afternoon sessions and both have a mixture of ages to facilitate the mixed peer group philosophy of Montessori education. |
Moving Between Sessions |
Once a child has started in a particular session it is our policy not to move them to a different session. Morning and Afternoon sessions at RMCH operate in a parallel fashion - that is to say, the structure and educational content of the sessions are identical and both operate a mixed peer group. The afternoon session finishes at 3.30pm so that parents with older children at school or after school activities are not inconvenienced. Exceptions may occasionally be made on the basis of a parent's work or the family circumstances but this is at the sole discretion of management. If places are available the oldest child in the afternoon session may be offered a morning place if one is available, keeping in mind the balance of the classroom and the needs of the waiting list. |
Waiting List |
Due to the high demand for places, Rangimarie MCH has a lengthy waiting list. If you wish to enrol your child it is prudent to do so as soon as possible. Children may be enrolled as babies and we do advise this. Priority for places is allocated to siblings of current pupils, children transferring from other Montessoir schools and children whose parents are committed to following through the full 3-6 programme with their child. Rangimarie MCH is unable to guarantee places. We do occasionally have vacancies for older children (over 3) so that a classroom balance can be maintained. It is advisable to contact the school to discuss this with staff. |
Beginning at RMCH |
Children may be offered a place from age two and half. Starting age
is at the discretion of the principal and will be based on eligibility,
achieving a good balance in the classroom and the child's readiness to
begin. The average age of entry is 2 years nine month. We cannot
guarantee you a particular session but we will do our best to accommodate
parents' wishes, keeping in mind the age and gender mix of the classroom
as well as the availability of places.
While refusing a particular session will not lose your place on the waiting list, prospective parents should be aware that it may be some time before a place in the desired session does become available. |
