The Museum of New Zealand - Te Papa Tongarewa was officially opened in February 1998. A wonderful place to visit for adults and children alike, Te Papa has special facilities available for children and caters for school visits.
Housed in the former central Library, Wellington's City Gallery has been completely refurbished in the last couple of years and has a reputation for showing high quality international exhibitions. There are several exhibition rooms and facilities include audio visual rooms and a cafe. Centrally located in  Civic Square the City Gallery is a must see when experiencing  Wellington's cultural life.
The Wellington City Library is to be found in a stunning Ian Athfield designed building located on Civic Square. A modern library facility with online catalogue accessible via the Internet, &  Internet access for library users.  Includes designated spaces for children and a cafe. Parking underground. Worth a visit after the City Gallery.
