They will live ...
as long as we remember.

Welcome to the History section of the Hill Family Club's website This part of the site is devoted to history of all the different Hill families. This website is sponsored by the Hill Family Club. See the HOME page for more about the family club. Most of these families settled in the American Colonies before they gained independence.

Most of the Hill families settled in the American Colonies before they gained independence. The vast majority of Hill families are descendants of Hill pioneers who came from the British Isles and settled in the 1600's and early 1700's. They came mostly from England. There are also Hill families from Germany who settled mainly in Pennsylvania and spread from there to the Midwest.

Of course, the different Hill families of America are not all related because this is a common family name in England. It is a place-name so it can be found in many regions.

Please be patient with us as we work on the site. Hope to add a lot of family history in the coming months. You are invited to submit brief histories of your branch of the family to be included on the site and more detailed information to preserve in the Family Library.

If you came directly to this page, be sure and visit the Hill Family Club's HOME page where you can jump to the Hill Family QUERIES section, the "FAMOUS HILLS" section, the Hill Family NEWSLETTER section and our other sites. Click on HOME at the bottom of this page to get started.

Hill Family National Library

One of our main goals is to create a national family library of records and information on all Hill families in America. We are trying to gather and preserve records of every type, both public documents and private family records. Please take time to make copies of records you have and send these in to preserve in the Family Library. Make xerox copies of obituaries of relatives, family information from your Bible, and write down details on your immediate family as far back as you know of and send these copies and information in.

Among the type of documents and information we are trying to gather and preserve are:

If you write and ask about family history, please -- be courteous enough to give your fullname and at least the town where you live. And remember that the family club is trying to gather and preserve our family history, so give info about yourself and your direct family line as far back as you know.
