Let us help you: you can post a query here if you are looking for a Richardson ancestor or a "lost" living relative. Find others who are also doing research on your particular ancestor or branch. You may find another researcher who already has located valuable information and may be able to help you. We hope this site can become a "clearing house" of information on all Richardson families and help reduce the effort of finding Richardson ancestors and living relatives. We hope this site can become a "clearing house" of information on all Richardson families and help reduce the effort of finding a Richardson ancestors and living relatives.

Now that the Internet has stretched across the world, the family World Wide Web site can help you reach previously unknown kinfolks who might be able to tell you all about that missing ancestor. As more and more relatives go online, family history is fast becoming easier to find. Distant cousins are learning about each other and eagerly sharing family heritage. Let your relatives help you--and you can help them!

TIP for preparing a query: give as much information as you can . . .

about your ancestor. The more information you include with your query, the better the chance of someone else being able to "link up". If you don't know dates, then estimate a time period ("1760's"; or abt "1810", etc.); in other words, if it is obvious they were born in the late 1800's, then say so. If you know these facts, be sure and include:

One-line queries usually don't get much response simply because there isn't enough information for anyone to make a connection so try to provide as much data as you can. Please limit your query to about one-half of a regular typed page.

Remember -- someone else might not know about your ancestor but they may know about a brother or sister and thus be able to help you make a connection.

DANIEL RICHARDSON

Looking for the maiden names of the wives of two ancestors, DANIEL RICHARDSON, born in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the son of AMOS RICHARDSON. Amos bought land on Snow Creek in Halifax/Pittsylvania counties, VA in 1751 in an area that later became parts of Henry and Franklin counties. I am trying to learn who their wives were. Seeking information on the parents and siblings of JOHN RICHARDSON, b. 1820 in Va. according to an old family bible. Family lore says his parents were JOHN MACK RICHARDSON and MARY BRYANT but I have been unable to find them or any verification of this. My John mar (1) ELIZABETH ("Betsy") REEDY 23 Jan., 1842 in Ashe Co., NC. They had 9 ch: ELBERT URVINE (1842-1861 died as a solider in War Between the States); SOLOMON LEEFORT ("Lee") (1844-1863 also died as soldier in the War); SURRILD CLEMENTINE (died young); JOHN GRANVILLE (1848-1933); MARTHA ANN ("Mattie") (1852-1934) mar WILLIAM WADDELL; JEROME FRANKLIN ("Frank") (1854-1926); FIELDS MACK (1856-1922); NANCY LEE ("Nannie") (1858-1874); and CREED MACK (1860-1931). John then divorced Betsy and mar (2) MARY JANE DEBORD and had 7 ch: LAURA M. (1874-?); DORA C. (1877-1879); WALTER MONROE ("Roe") (1879-?); JAMES ROBY ("Jim") (1881-?); MARTHA EDITH (or Ennis); MINNIE L. (1883-?); and MARGARET PAROLEE (1885-?). John and Mary Jane moved from Ashe Co., NC in early 1880 to Lee Co., VA.. and then to Hawkins Co., TN. where John died in Nov., 1890. Was his parents already in Tn, since I find no record of them in NC or VA. This family was farmers and horse traders. The children in VA. and their descendants would go to TN. with horses at least once a year. Was there other family there?
