SION SANDERS
abt 1778-1833

WILLIAM and SION SANDERS are listed among the pioneer settlers of Perry Co., AL. However, only William shows up on the 1830 census. Both descend from WILLIAM SANDERS, who died 1811 in Pendleton District, SC. He served as a Captain in the Revolutionary War. William married Mrs. MARY QUARTERMAN in SC, 1774. He also received property in SC in 1757, so he was at least born as early as 1736, being at least 21 at the exchange of the property. This makes the 1774 marriage look like a second marriage. The ch of William: JOHN (1774?) who came to Perry Co. by 1840; WILLIAM (1778?) who settled in 1817; SION (1780?) who came in 1817, evidently returned and died in SC, where he mar ELIZABETH (1785 SC); ELIZABETH (1783?) who mar WILLIAM SMITH in SC; VINSON, 1786?; WILEY (1788?); MATILDA (1790?) who mar DANIEL TUBB (17 Feb 1794, SC - 25 Mar 1882 AL.); unknown dau, 1792?, mar KITCHEN PERRY in SC; ELEANOR (1793?) mar in AL WILLIAM TUBB (1783, son of John Tubb); an unknown dau (1794?) mar NICHOLAS FISHER Jr. in SC, (b. ca. 1760 - d. ca. 1834 SC) (Nicholas, Sr: 1730 - 22 Apr 1794); NANCY (1796?) mar JEREMIAH SMITH in SC; and WILLIE (1797), mar ANDREW WILSON (1783 - 30 Aug 1885 SC). JOSEPH SANDERS (31 Aug 1812 - 7 Oct 1903) shows up with a large family in 1840, with his mother, Elizabeth with him. Joseph mar 12 Dec 1834 in AL. ELEANOR WILLIAMS (15 Mar 1814 in SC - 28 Aug 1865). I need to know more about Sion Sanders, his wife and Joseph's siblings.
