Engagements and Anniversaries

TURNAGE LOWERY

FOXWORTH, Miss.--Robert F. Turnage and Julie Ann Lowery were married at New Hope Baptist Church in Marion County, 17 May.
Robert is the son of Mrs. Elowease S. Turnage and the late Charles D. Turnage of Kokomo. He is a grandson of the late Carley D. and Betty Oxner Turnage. Robert is a graduate of West Marion High School and attended Jones Junior College. He is currently employed by BSI Workover and Drilling Co.
Julie Ann is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Lowery of Foxworth. She is a granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Lowery of Foxworth and Mrs. Margane Davis and the late Woodrow Davis of Tylertown. She is a graduate of West Marion High School and Jones Junior College. She is now enrolled at the University Medical Center School of Health Related Professions, where she is majoring in occupational therapy.
The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Kent Campbell. Charles Ray Turnage and Jimmy Dale Turnage, brothers of the groom, served as best men. Groomsmen were Sean Buhrer, Chad McKenzie, Rusty McKenzie, Shae Lowery, cousin of the bride, Jason Regan and Jamie Rogers, all of Foxworth.


Kimberly and Amy Lowery, sisters of the bride, served as maids of honor.
Ushers were Aaron Turnage and Zachary Turnage, nephews of the groom and Lowery and Dustin Stringer, cousins of the bride. Travis Turnage, nephew of the groom, served as ringbearer; Brandon Turnage, nephew of the groom, served as program attendant.
A reception was held in the church's Family Life Center following the marriage ceremony. The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tn. and will live in Jackson, Ms.
Robert is a great grandson of William E. Turnage Sr. and Ledocia Williamson.

TURNAGE JONES

COLUMBIA, Miss.--Jennifer Rose Turnage and Christopher David Jones were married at Lakeview Church of God 15 Nov., 1996.
Jennifer is the daughter of John Sam Turnage and Rosa Bedwell. She is the granddaughter of the late Carley D. Turnage and Betty Oxner and Albert and Pearlie Mae Bedwell of New Hope.

SPEIGHTS MALONE

COLUMBIA, Miss.-- Myron Bret Speights and Sarah Elizabeth Malone were married here 15 May at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Myron is the son of Margarette Turnage and her husband Henry Speights. He is the grandson of Joseph Tellie Turnage and Iris Grice Turnage and John D. and Lillian Speights, all of Columbia. He is a 1994 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where he received a bachelors degree in electronics engineering technology. While at USM, he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He is now employed with Cellular Holding, Inc. of Jackson.

Sarah is the daughter of Karen Alford of Purvis and William N. Malone of Hattiesburg. She is the granddaughter of Wynema Alexander and the late Willie Alexander of Purvis and C. D. Malone Sr. and the late Wilhelmina Malone of Hattiesburg. She is currently attending Pearl River Community College and plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi in pursuit of a degree in business.

Turnage Engagements

TURNAGE LOWE

COLUMBIA, Miss.-- Mrs. Peggy Turnage announces the engagement and forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Melissa Kay Turnage, to Todd Douglas Lowe of Foxworth.

Melissa is a 1994 graduate of Columbia High School and attended Pearl River Community College. She is now employed with Document Processing. She is the granddaughter of the late Charles Robert (Robert) Turnage and Era Pounds of Columbia. Melissa is the great granddaughter of Charles Daniel Turnage and Mattie Turnage; gg granddaughterof James Jacob Turnage and Frances Duncan; ggg granddaughter of Jesse Turnage and Martha Shathford; and gggg granddaughter of Jesse Turnage (of Greene and Duplin Counties, NC).

Todd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Etoile Lowe of Foxworth and a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Lowe of Foxworth and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Boyd of Jayess. He is a 1986 graduate of West Marion High School and is now employed with Wendell Holland Builders.

The wedding is planned for 26 June at Holly Springs Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.


Turnage Anniversaries

TURNAGE STARK

Marion June Turnage and her husband Arthur J. Stark, celebrated their fiftieth anniversary 5 February 2001. They were married 5 Feb 1951 in Charleston, South Carolina. Marion June Turnage is the daughter of Oscar Livingston Turnage and Lillian Maude Quick. Marion and Art have four children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. They live in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
