Please pray for all Americans as we are all deeply affected by this tragedy,
and especially remember the families of the victims.

Megan seems to being doing okay.
When one has mountain moving faith one must also have the patience to move one stone at a time.
That is how it is with Megan's injuries. We can see God's glory in His work with Meg.
We are all growing more obedient to His will not ours.
The prayers have done so much to renew our strength.
God bless everyone who responded and those who prayed.
In Jesus' name,
Pat Markus E-MAIL:pmarkus@frontiernet.net

MEGAN MARKUS' STORY:
*********************
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
On November 15, 1996, Megan Markus, a vibrant high school senior, was in
a very serious car accident. Megan, who is a Fairport, New York Cheerleader,
was on her way to cheer the soccer team during the state finals.
The accident occurred because another driver was not driving safely.
Megan was rushed to Strong Memorial ICU (Rochester, New York) where she struggled
for her life for six weeks. She was transferred to St. Mary's Hospital (Rochester, New York)
for brain rehabilitation.
Megan, a cheerleading coach for young girls, had goals of becoming a special
education teacher. She is an outstanding role model who gives willingly with her heart.
Megan was "coma-emergent," meaning she emerges from the coma periodically
and tries to respond to commands, but isn't fully aware of her surroundings.
She has returned home and is now "minimally conscious," which means she
is aware of her surroundings and tries to respond to them.\o/ Praise The Lord!!!
\o/ Please brothers and sisters in Christ, please pray for a complete divine
healing. So that God's Name will be Glorified!!! Also pray for peace for Megan's
family.
Pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus. God does answer prayers. God is Awesome!!!
God is in control. Jesus is Lord!!!
Thank you brothers and sisters in Christ for your prayers. Thank you God!!!!
God Bless each and everyone of you in everything you do.

Joyce,
After doing many tests to make sure he was "brain dead", they took Randy off
the life-support systems and he is now face-to-face with Jesus. I was so
hoping for a miracle... looking forward to seeing Randy live a full life
with his new lungs and heart. We had so much hope for 3 weeks... and now
he's gone. I am full of so many mixed emotions, pain, confusion, anger and a
void that will never be filled. Thank you so much for your prayers. Please
now pray for his family. His wife, Debbie depended on Randy for everything
and is devasted. His mother, Annette. I cannot even image the pain of losing
a child. His siblings, Francine, Joe, and Joan... and his extended family,
which includes me. He was the closest thing I had to a little brother. I
love him dearly.

Love in Him,
~Angelia~

Dear Joyce,
I now need your prayers please.
They have put Randy in a drug induced coma and are running test to
find out the problem. He is running a very high fever that they
cannot get under control. They say he has "some type" of infection,
but don't know what it is or how he got it.
Please pray...
~A~

for transplant Randy's sister, Fran, just called saying Randy had another big
seizure a little while ago. All of the doctors are in the room with him right now.
They have not determined what is causing the seizures.

We are all really scared for him right now. Please please pray for Randy's recovery.
He has been thru so much. We want to see him live a more normal life with his new heart
and lungs. Please pray for his family. Fran and their mother are there (Chapel Hill, NC) with
Debbie, Randy's wife. They are all so frightened. Please pray for the Lord to make His presence
in this known and to ease their fear.
Love in Him,
~Angelia~

My cousin, Randy is having seziures and they have determined that his liver is not functioning
properly. They are going to do a biopsy on his liver and heart and lungs to discover the problem
and the course of treatment. Please pray.

Received this message from Randy's sister, Fran:
Heard from mother this morning. She said Randy has been walking a little.
He is still doing great. All his chest tubes have been removed now.
He is breathing on his own. All things point to a sure and speedy recovery.

I went to see Randy in Chapel Hill last night. He looks better than I have seen him in his life! He has a beautiful pink glow to him and his feet no longer have the blueish tint to them. God is so awesome to provide this procedure for us. Please pray for the family who lost someone in order for Randy to receive this precious gift of a chance for life. Randy has been sick all his life because he was a "blue baby". He is 35 years old and now has a new beginning. Praise God! He had the breathing tube off last night and was breathing on his own. Before the surgery, his oxygen level was like 40... it was 96 last night!!!
Thank you for your prayers of support.
I would like to ask you all to send a note of encouragement to him thru me. I want to print them all out and take them to the hospital with me next week end. He is a strong Christian man. He told the doctors "I'm ready doctor... either way this goes!" Please pray that it be God's will that it continues to go in the direction of Randy's healing. It is so wonderful to see him look so healthy!

Love in Him,
~Angelia~

Randy has had a mini-stroke that affected his left side. The doctors have told the family that this is common and Randy is doing well. He is still on the respirator and pain med, but he squeezes his family's hands and is aware they are there.
Please pray for his recovery from the surgery and this stroke. His sister, Fran, will be heading home tomorrow and maybe his brother, Joe. Please pray for there travel mercies.
Thank you for kneeling with me in prayer to lift these special people in my life up to our Lord.
Love in Him,
~Angelia~

I heard from Randy's sisters. Randy received a heart and double lung transplant today. He was in surgery for 8.5 hours! He was a "blue baby" at birth and has had heart trouble all his life. Now here he is, 35 years old and with a new start. He's been on the waiting list for this transplant for YEARS and getting worse.
He was still sedated when I spoke with Fran and Joan. (See update on Joan in another email).
Please pray for the anti-rejection drugs to work and that he now lives a long healthy life.
Please pray for the family's safe return to Charlotte when they feel ready to come home.
Thank you all so much for being there for me.
Love in Him,
~Angelia~

If anyone has read about my daughter - About Joy, this is a similar case.
12 year old Jennifer was hit by a car in Houston, Texas about 8 weeks ago
Many of you have been praying for this girl, and her progress has been nothing
short of amazing. Miracles do happen! Praise God from whom our blessings flow.

Below is a copy of the message I received from her uncle who found me in his time of need.

Friday, February 19, 1999 4:07 PM
The doctors said she is lucky to even be alive at this point.

Add another miracle to His list...

Jennifer is awake. Has been since we last chatted. She is eating
applesauce and chewing on ice chips. Her mother was eating pizza in the
room with her and Jen was frantic. Apparently she hasn't lost her taste
for "Fine Italian Cuisine."

Three days after we were told she may never do anything but just lie there, Jennifer spoke her first word.

"Mama."

I will get a chance to talk to her tonight on the phone. I will fill you in.

Thanks for your help, your ears, and your prayers. We have a long way to go yet, but at least the journey has begun.

I will be in touch soon.
