Samuel Tilden 1844-abt 1920

3.1 Samuel Tilden was born July 8, 1844 in Charlestown, Massachusetts and died abt. 1920 in Massachusetts. He married Millicent Dalton.

*Samuel Tilden moved to Malden, Massachusetts to live in 1876. Printer by trade. He was the Editor in Malden for about 25 years, school committee man 5 years, secretary of school committee 4 yrs, registrar of voters 6 yrs and overseer of the poor three years.

In 1914, he wrote, printed and published a small book called, "Living Thoughts". From this book pp. 11, he writes: "My grandfather, Capt. Samuel Tilden died in March of that year, and my coming so soon determined my parents to give me his name-plain Samuel."
