Web Publishing - II

Welcome

Welcome to the UAS-Sitka CIOS 255 Web Publishing Concepts and Applications - Part II course! Your classroom, assignments, Facilitator (guide/instructor), communication information, instructors schedule, class chat room, and student services are all located on the Internet through the WWW Virtual Classroom.

The UAS-Sitka CIOS 255 Web Publishing II Menu is located at the following World Wide Web address:
http://www.shuilongs.com/cios/cios255menu.html.
This class was created by The Facilitator as an Open Entry/Open Exit Flex class. Section One provides skills in assessing and choosing a Provider, HTML Intermediate lessons in character entities, style tags, header elements, forms, and tables, experience in evaluating and Downloading several Web Master audio and graphic editors, the addition of several Graphics Plus choices including colors, values, banners, fonts, gifs and animations, and the skills to evaluate Student Web Pages. Section Two continues HTML Advanced lessons in using advancing technology, frames, ImageMaps and some basic JavaScripts, and the exploration and addition of basic Multimedia techniques including audio and video, WebMaster tricks and tweaks, evaluating virtual servers, studying web commerce, domain names, technical news, security and ethics, and evaluating Student Web Pages for CAST compliancy.

To get to your classroom you should already be able to access the World Wide Web. To send and receive assignments you must have an email address.

If you do not know what any of the above means, do not have access to an ISP connected computer, do not have a Web Page already started, and do not understand Basic HTML, then this is not the class for you. I recommend you take CIOS 153: Web Publishing Part One first.

You may give me a call at my home/office phone number if you have any questions. Please call during normal business hours, 10-5 Monday through Friday. The number is (907)747-5582. General technical connection help questions can be answered by Susie or Rita at 747-7727. For general help for Distance Students, contact Sue or Naomi in the administration office at 747-7757.

See you in cyber-space!
