Configuring Windows 95
PPP for ACAD1

Note: Keep your Windows95 disks handy while doing this configuration as you may need them.

Instructions for Setting Up PPP (Point to Point Protocol)


Setting up PPP is a five step process:
1. Setting up the Dial-up Adapter (if not already installed)
2. Setting up TCP/IP Protocol (if not already installed)
3. Configuring TCP/IP for UAS
4. Setting Your UAS Dial-In Connection
5. Using Your PPP Connection


Setting Up The Dial-Up Adapter (if not listed)

If the Dial-up Adapter is not listed:

Setting Your UAS Dial-In Connection

When you are back in Windows 95 after restarting,
click on Start, then Programs, the Accessories.
Click on Dial-up Networking.


Using Your PPP Connection

Now you are ready to dial and connect to ACAD1.
Now you can run Winsock (TCP/IP) applications like:
Netscape, Teamlinks, Telnet, TN3270, etc.
You may want to minimize the Connected to ACAD1 Window.

When you are done surfing the net, and want to disconnect,
go to the Connected to ACAD1 window again and click on Disconnect.
