A review of how to access and use a variety of other programming languages will be discussed including a review of Java. Hands on reviews of the student sites with attempts/successes using an Applet or Script will be a part of the day. How to find and secure a Domain name as well as a review of the InterNic will be included. Web Page Hosts and Servers will be evaluated for those that support advanced interactive languages such as Java, CGI and PERL and VRML. Including a Java Script Form or Search engine on your site will be reviewed. The student will use an online form to evaluate this workshop series. The student will add a multimedia component to their page, which may include sounds or music. Several jukeboxes and their sources will be decoded. Shockwave Flash shows, applet slide shows and more will be viewed and discussed.
We'll look at what the students aspirations are for their site and the best ways to achieve this using publicity and web commerce for your site. The student will create meta tags and submit their site to several search engines, robots and spiders. A pros and cons discussion and viewing of ways to use banners, webrings and site pushes will be presented.
