Jeremy Brett (1933-1995) was a versatile British actor
with a distinguished 40-year career legacy in such
diverse rôles as Bassanio, Dorian Gray, Dracula,
Freddie Eynsford-Hill, Hamlet, Maxim de Winter,
William Tatham, and Robert Browning.

Yet it was his talented and enriching portraiture
as the consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, in
which internationally famed him. Undoubtedly
his portrayal remains "quintessential." This is a
man who had touched -- unfathomably touched -- the
hearts of millions of lives, including that of the editor.

This site is not intended to be a "dedication" to Mr
Sherlock Holmes, but more exclusively a "dedication," in love
and veneration, to the life of Mr Jeremy Brett Huggins --
his works, his career, his influence, and his self.

Errors: It has come to my attention that Geocities had delete all the linked pictures and all the wav files, etc. I fear 75% of them had not one backup due to a virus on my harddrive. I will need some assistance from those who have saved copies of the images or wav files. Either email me at <brettish140@hotmail.com>, or contact me when I am on MSN Instant Messager at my email address above, or at AOL Instant Messanger at ID name brettish140. Sunday, 20 May 2001: I apologise for the lack of updating, I have had little time to work on this site. I hope to update when I have summer break (which is only 3 weeks long). I only added advertisement for an advert for Miss Linda Pritchard's new book.

Due to the beautiful generosity of a fellow Brettish devoteé by the name of Midden, the "dedication" is supported, for the being, bringing it to a new location, a larger memory-space, and no more of those annoying pop-up advertisements!

A heart-rending A Confession: Why Jeremy Brett?? was written for the "dedication" on 12 September. For the devoted band of individuals who help the "dedication" become possible and the best it can be, the editor recognises in Special Thanks & Acknowledgements. To our dear Jeremy, an In Memoriam... plaque -- terse, simple yet heartfelt. Browse about the "dedication"s membershipped Webrings. For details of previous updates, see What's New!
