ASTROLOGY COLUMN - June 1999

Hint: If you know your Rising Sign, also called the Ascendant, read your horoscope for that sign, as it will often give you a better reading than for your Sun sign. To find out your Rising Sign, ask an astrologer to calculate your birthchart. You'll need full birthdate, exact time of birth as shown on the birth certificate, and city/state/country of birth.)

ARIES (March 21-April 20) (or Aries Rising):

Jupiter is still in your sign through the 28th, so make hay while the sun shines! Be bold, confident, and take advantage of new opportunities. Take risks but employ the judgment of seasoned experts; if both say "yes," then Go For It! Expand your vision and enterprises. Windfalls, large contributions, and raises are not out of the question. Your spiritual faith is the basis for all abundance in your life -- "radical" and "totally awesome"!

TAURUS (April 21-May 20) (or Taurus Rising):

The focus is on your possessions this month. Do some serious reorganizing, cleanout and cleanup. Simplify and create SPACE for all the new goodies coming your way in life. Give Spirit room to sweep through! "Less is more" may sound like an oxymoron to Taurus, but let it be your mantra during June. GEMINI (May 21-June 21) (or Gemini Rising):

Intense personal relationship issues arise during this birthday cycle. Study uses and abuses of power by yourself and others. PROCESS: Release yourself and others from the old roles you've played in the past. Write down the names of all the key people in your life, then list the roles you have played with each other in this lifetime and past lifetimes. See how these roles have limited your interactions. Now release each other from those roles. Feel the freedom and personal renewal!

CANCER (June 22-July 22) (or Cancer Rising):

June is a good month for Cancerians to go on a spiritual retreat vacation, involving spiritual practice, meditation, yoga, health spa, tennis, water sports, contemplation. Find the deeper spiritual nurturance and comfort that's eternally available beyond the ordinary, physical world. Find fun ways to overhaul old attitudes. You can now experience a sudden release from old burdens and worries from the past. Become a BRIGHT NEW YOU! (PSSSST! Yes, you can!)

LEO (July 23-August 23) (or Leo Rising):

Be a social butterfly during June - gad about and visit friends you haven't seen for a while. Make new friends. Explore the community and show up sparkling for group and community events in your city. Engage in fascinating conversations with people you may never see again. Help release your mate from limitations; find out what they feel is holding them back from what they would really like to do if given carte blanche. Enjoy new freedoms in relationships and life!

VIRGO (August 24- Sept 23) (or Virgo Rising):

Virgo shines in leadership this month. You are highly visible, and this an excellent time to present your message and yourself to the powers that be, to people who are influential in your field. You could be so impressive you can just about write your own ticket. Powerful dialogues that delve into important topics help get you where you want to go. Go for bottom line, and don't hesitate to make incisive points or ask the hard questions.

LIBRA (Sept 24- Oct 23) (or Libra Rising):

Decisions, decisions! Libra is famous for disliking to make decisions, but consider that when you are upset about something you have already made one! You want to eliminate what is upsetting that goes against your own ideals, goes against your own sense of reciprocity, truth, appropriateness, justice and fairness. The question becomes how to state your position firmly yet graciously so as to clear away what doesn't align with your own valid ideals.

SCORPIO (Oct 24 - Nov 21) (or Scorpio Rising):

Chiron is back in your sign, and life is anything but business as usual. It's hard to know if you're coming or going at times, but the key is to know who you are, regardless of anyone else, if you were to mentally abstract everyone else from your life. Apply the process under Gemini for more benefits. Extra credit for personal renewal: 3 minutes of yoga "alternate nostril breathing" per day.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 - Dec 21) (or Sagittarius Rising):

Sagittarius studies uses and abuses of power this month. Mates and partners have a lot to say - let them say it even if they babble on. A good month to plan dental care over the next couple of years - do you need to have amalgam fillings replaced with composites? Would your body alignment benefit from orthotic supports in your shoes? To improve health, put more routine or "programme" into your life. You KNOW what you need to do or remove from your current habits -- do it now or pay later -- YOUR CHOICE!

CAPRICORN (Dec 22 - Jan 19) (or Capricorn Rising):

There is much going on behind the scenes this month, such as due diligence, power partnering and deal making. Have fun being in the right place at the right time!! This is a good month to hire self-motivated support staff who are versatile and even bilingual. Mates and partners are supportive and comforting during busy times -- they give you the stable base to keep moving forward with all deliberate speed!

AQUARIUS (Jan 20 - Feb 18) (or Aquarius Rising):

You can be inspired to release whole bunches of old "stuff" on all levels. Get the lead out! PROCESS: First, consider your entire life as 100%. What percentage matches your current energy? What percentage is outworn or foreign energy? Have a look. (These should add up to 100%.) Second, consider your "possessions" and "holdings" on spiritual, personality, mental, emotional, energetic, and physical levels separately, each of these having it's own 100%. Look at what percentage in each area matches your current energy? What percentage is outworn or foreign energy? Now, go to work!

PISCES (Feb 19 - March 20) (or Pisces Rising):

Pisces should be doing well in the financial area right now -- a good time to save or invest well. If you know money markets, a quick play with fast turnover can net you a bundle this month. You enjoy home and family now, catching up on reading and net-surfing. Get on the phone to family members -- keep those communication lines open to make relationships more REAL!
