Charles who married Becca was in the 1790 North Carolina census. He
died in 1796.
Charles who married Agnes Hill was wounded in the Battle of Alamance in
May 1771 and briefly drew a pension from the Royalist government. He
died of his wounds a short time later in 1772.
The son's name "Whitmel" is a definite indication that they are
descendants of Thomas and Mary or Sarah Whitmel. Both Charles-es had a
son named Whitmel. But exactly how Charles who married Becca fits -- we
don't know for sure.
