Cactus Patch (Spring) Series event #2

My car was set up better than ever for this event. Type-R rear sway bar, new shocks in the rear (although stock), and toe allignment adjusted for 1/16-1/8" toe out to help turn in. BUT, since it rained for my runs AGAIN I really couldn't test it out. From the rain I was definitely sliding pushing on some turns but the majority of the time oversteering and pretending I was Bow and Luke from the Dukes of Hazard. I must say auto-xing in the rain is probably more fun, but when there's a points series to win, it makes it quite annoying when others in your same class got to run earlier that day in the dry. I believe I took 2nd place at this event. I lost to an HS car that got to run in the dry earlier that day so I don't feel so bad. I believe it was a professional driver piloting the car as well. Even stil, my auto-xing buddy Brandon still beat him in his "HS" Civic HX. As far as the other Novices that ran with me in CSP, my toughest opponent was actually a 1st time rookie! He beat both of my times by over a second the first two runs. Then on the last run he nearly beat me, but he ended up hitting 3 cones at the end so that sealed the deal for me. My excuse besides him being a better driver than me was that he had AWD and it was wet (which is very valid - but I just want to make myself feel better). He had a very nice Isuzu Impreza 2.5RS. With a shinny set of chrome 17" Speedlines and some new sticky Toyo T1 Proxies. I really need to ditch those Nittos in the back of my car for another pair of Yoko A520's. Hopefully I'll have the money to do that before the next auto-x race. I'll hopefully also have a set of Koni adjustable shocks on the car as well. So if things go as planned, I shouldn't have a problem taking 1st place in the Novice class.

Other noteworthy events was Victor got best of 43.311 on his new set of Hoosier tires and the best time of the day was a 41.xxx I believe. "IF" it didn't rain that day I'm confident that I could have pulled a 43-44 second time, but who knows?
