Cactus Patch (Spring) Series event #3

My car just keeps getting better. For this event I had my newly installed Koni single adjustable shocks and I added a little more negative camber in the rear to help keep my oversteering problem to a minimum. Actually once I ditch those Nitto's in the rear my car will probably return to understeer and then I'll want to add some negative camber to the front. I did better this time. I was finally able to beat the two guys that beat me in the first two events so hopefully that will move me up into the #2 spot as far as season points. If I can duplicate my performance for the last event I should have no problem pulling 1st place for the season. I don't think I came in 1st for this race though. There was a new guy I've never seen run in Novice 2 that entered. He blew all of us away by quite a bit! Good thing there is only 1 more event in the season and you have to participate in 3 out of the 4 to win anything. Whew!

Setting up the car is getting interesting. I'm still trying to find the optimum balance to set everything for the duration of a typical race. I think I've found a decent setup but I need to verify tire pressures first with some caulk on the sidewalls. When I get that I'll fine tune the shocks. Victor gave me the tip to get the front set to where the car feels good, then just play with the rear tire pressures and shocks settings to balance out the car as it makes a bigger difference than changes in the front.

Highlights of the event was Victor blowing away the field again in CSP. He netted a best run of 58.xxx. Top time of the day went to an El Camino running a 57.xxx second time. I was able to work the course while Marc "Precision Robot Driver" McCombs drove his V6 Camero around the course. He is absolutely AWESOME!!! I can't believe he can make that car do the things it does. I believe he pulled a 59.xxx second time and his car is BONE stock! He got top PAX time of the day for the 3rd event in a row. I bet the GS drivers are pissed!

NOTE:Since you need to compete in at least 3 out of the 4 events for your points to count towards the season, only the drivers that have done two or more events so far are listed. Also since the final score is the sum of the 3 best scores, the worst score has been dropped before adding.
