I was asleep,
you woke me.
yet you slept.
I felt all warm
for some reason
I looked at you
and it was then
I felt I could
have wept.
No!
No, I said to
that feeling
that was there
struggling
deep inside.
Gods!
Block it off,
out,way, please
let it go back
and hide!
A warrior is only
as good as the wall
they build of stones.
I just can't let you
bring it crumbling down,
but then how can I leave
you all alone?
If only my sword could
cut away this insane
confusion you have
begun to boil in me.
It would save my
soul from the pain
of what I know
can never be.
So I lay here awake.
systematically
planning how
to pull away
from you.
As you slept,
as you dreamed,
not realizing
we are already
begun, ended,
and now we
are through.
All in a night
as you slept
and dreamed
I killed it,
I had to!
As fast as it
had begun
it was done!
And I know
I'll miss you.
