Moonlight caresses your skin in a way I know my hands never will
The light in your eyes would turn to fire if our lips caught one another

As I hold you in my arms, we linger a little longer than we should
Neither of us wanting the moment to end
Neither of us knowing where to begin

We pull apart, looking into each other's souls
You welcome me back from my journey with your voice
Your heart welcomes me back with your eyes
Your body
The very sight of you
Makes my heart rise in my chest
I choke out a pathetic response

My eyes never leave you
You do not ask me what is wrong
You do not need to
We sit by the fire
Both of us silent
In our own little hells
Until the final embers of the fire die
And our bodies toss in restless sleep

Silence speaks a thousand words
But only four do I wish I could say to you
"I love you, Gabrielle"
