That Moment

If I knew that
moment was to be our last,
there are so many things I would have done
differently in our past.
Instead of breaking camp at the first light of day,
I would have held you in my arms awhile longer,
and been content to stay.
I would have told you more often
how much you really mean to me,
and that because of you,
my heart was finally set free.
But I took it for granted
that I would always have you near,
and now thinking you did not know how strong
my love for you was is my greatest fear.
I pray to the Gods that you are watching me from above,
and that you can feel all of my love.
