A little about myself and my site:

I have created this site as an information center for those planning trips to our area and for those that just have a love for the outdoors and maybe a small "need" for adventure. I have included a form for those requesting specific information about Baxter State Park, Mt Katahdin, or anything to do with the outdoors. I have also included a message board forum, for those wanting to share info about trips, gear, trails etc....

 I live 20 miles from Baxter State Park and Mt. Katahdin. I have climbed Katahdin far too many times to count and even now, whenever I start down the trails, I get just as excited as the first time. I guess you could say the Mountain is very dear to me. Katahdin was originally called "Pamola", by the Native Americans of the region, when translated, it means "the greatest mountain". I will continue to add to this site as I go. If you have any suggestions, feel free to send them to me. I have also spent many days,... and nights, on Mt.Washington, in New Hampshire, both in the winter and summer. I have climbed numerous other mountains around this wonderful country of ours. I do not claim to be a great climber, or anything of the sort, but I do love the wilderness and have a fair amount of experience. So if any of you have any questions about climbing, hiking, Baxter state park or Maine in general, just ask. If I do not know the answer, I will find it. In the mean time, relax and browse around.
