Family

The two "LOVELY" ladies above are sisters SALLY CUMMINGS McCOY and CATHERINE CUMMINGS DAVIS. I also have information on their brother, Andrew J. Cummings. I believe that I will start with SALLY as she is my direct line.

SALLY CUMMIN(G)S McCOY

SALLY is said to have been born between 1814 and 1820 in Tennessee. SALLY and CALAWAY McCOY were suppose to have been married about 1841 but I can't find any proof of this. SALLY and CALAWAY had eight children born to them in the 1st Civil District of Washington County Tennessee and they are as follows:
ANDREW J. MCCOY was born 10 April 1843, married twice, first to Martha WOOLSEY in 1864 then Eliza Jane ELLIS in 1873. Andrew died 6 June 1904 in Bismarck, St. Francois County Missouri.
CYNTHIA JANE MCCOY was born 20 April 1845, married David NELSON in 1865. CYNTHIA died 28 April 1907 in Bismarck, St. Francois County Missouri.
ISAAC DAVIS MCCOY was born 13 September 1847, married Nancy Elizabeth GEORGE in 1870. ISAAC died 28 January 1923 in Desloge, St. Francois County Missouri.
MARY E. MCCOY was born 20 March 1850, married twice, first to William Smith BROYLES in 1872 then Samuel Nelson GEORGE in 1892. MARY died 30 January 1932 and is buried in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Washington County Tennessee.
MARGARET C. MCCOY was born 1851, married twice, first to William C. GEORGE in 1872 then to Mr. FORTE between 1923 - 1929. I am unsure where she died or when.
NANCY ELENDER "Ellen" MCCOY was born March 8, 1855, married Julius BROYLES in 1874. ELLEN died September 26, 1879 and is buried in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington County Tennessee.
WILLIAM RILEY McCOY was born 29 July 1858 married Sallie Anne STANTON in 1880. WILLIAM died 11 May 1929 in Elvins, St. Francois Coutny Missouri.
SAMUEL MCCOY was born about 1862 this is all I have on this child.
I have a **hand written** obituary that was written about 1930 about CALAWAY MCCOY. The obituary claims that Calaway died 30 September 1896 in Missouri and that SALLY CUMMINS MCCOY, his wife died about June of 1890 in Tennessee and that her brother was A. J. Cummings.

CATHERINE CUMMINS/CUMMINGS was born October 18, 1822 in either Tenn or Va. CATHERINE and ISAAC DAVIS were married January 12, 1842 in Greene County Tenn. They had the following children:
JOHN DAVIS b. 1844 in Tennessee.
WILLIAM HORTON DAVIS b. 1846 in Tennessee.
JAMES DAVIS b. 1848 in Georgia.
SUAN A. DAVIS b. 1850 in Georgia.
MARY JANE DAVIS b. 1855 in Georgia.
NANCY ANN DAVIS b. 1857 in Georgia.
MELVINA DAVIS b. 1860 in Alabama.
THOMAS DAVIS b. 1862 in Alabama.
Isaac and Catharine are on the 1850 Murray County Georgia census records, the 1860 Franklin County Alabama census records and the 1880 Comanche County Texas census records. Isaac and Catharine are buried at Board Church Cemetery in Commanche County Texas.

ANDREW J. CUMMINGS was born 1825 in Tennessee and married a woman by the name of NANCY about 1846 and of course I don't know the exact date or where the event happened. From the information that I have NANCY was born in South Carolina March of 1828 and died in Bismark, St. Francois County Missouri. ANDREW J. CUMMINGS died after 1910 in St. Francois County Missouri. ANDREW J. and NANCY CUMMINGS had four children that I know of born to them in Georgia. They are as follows:
MARY CUMMINGS born about 1849.
SARAH A. CUMMINGS born 16 May 1850, married Thomas B. WHITWORTH in 1872. SARAH died 11 August 1906 in Missouri.
WILLIAM B. CUMMINGS was born 29 December 1851, married Mary Louise WHITWORTH in 1871. WILLIAM died 7 January 1925 in Missouri.
CATHERINE C. CUMMINGS was born 2 April 1854, married Leroy MATKIN in 1870. CATHERINE died 29 November 1924 in Missouri.
ELBERT CUMMINGS was born 16 May 1856, married Sarah Margaret MONTGOMERY in 1879. ELBERT died 30 September 1944.
