Where do I get these great links?

I read "OT Practice," The Sun-Sentinel's "Business & Technology" section, "Computers in Libraries," "Searcher Magazine," and "Health on the Web" for websites mentioned or featured in articles. Some sites are suggested to me by the keen eyes of: Susan Siporin, (O.T.R. & faculty member of Wayne State University) & her class. I also surf for promising sites at:

Digital Librarian a librarian's choice of the best of the Web

Neat New Stuff on the Net chosen by a librarian

Librarians' Index to the Internet a fantastic directory of online resources chosen by a team of 92 librarians

Internet Public Library this virtual library has lists of online resources, reference questions personally answered by email, & is staffed by volunteer librarians

Web-Savvy keeping current with web-based resources

Librarians' Resource Centre

International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet has great links

Although some of the links in them may be old, I check through books like:

The Internet for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals
Edwards, M.J.A.

Internet Guide for Rehabilitation Professionals
Reed, K.L. & Cunningham, S.

Mosby's Medical Surfari: A Guide to Exploring the Internet & Discovering the Top Health Care Resources
Gibbs, S., Sullivan-Fowler, M., & Rowe, N.W.

A Pocket Guide to the Medical Internet
Hutchinson, D. & Hogarth, M.

How to Find Medical Information on the Internet: A Print and Online Tutorial for the Healthcare Professional and Consumer
Kovacs, D.K. & Carlson, A.L.
(I haven't read the book yet, but her work is well-known)
Diane Kovacs (medical librarian, lecturer, & author), teaches live & online workshops on this topic

How to Find Health Information on the Internet
Maxwell, B.

Consumer Health Information Source Book
Rees, A.M.

I am on a number of wonderful listservs, including:

Respool listserv "pooling new & known reference resources on the Internet"

MEDLIB listserv for medical/health sciences librarians

Whenever I look at a promising website, I check out their "Links" or "Resources" page for websites the owner felt were good. Lastly, I surf the web for websites, but I prefer to get the bulk of my sites from reputable sources and surf only when I couldn't find decent sites elsewhere.
