GI Bill Benefits Extended to Veterans Sitting for NBCOT Occupational Therapy announcement on NBCOT's website

What a surprise, NBCOT is suing the Occupational Therapy Certification Board of America, Inc.; read about it in Advance (don't forget to read the editorial) and NBCOT's Press Release

Created new section in the "Cultural Medicine" page: Companies/Workshops/CEUs.

Transcultural C.A.R.E. Associates has written extensively, created an assessment tool for measuring cultural competency in healthcare personnel (I haven't used it yet), & her book (which I haven't read yet) has an annotated bibliography of assessment tools to measure cultural competency; she offers workshops & consultation

Geri-Ann Galanti: Cultural Diversity in Healthcare her book, "Caring For Patients From Different Cultures" has tons of succinct, interesting case studies; she has also written articles; her site has links to some of her articles and brief cultural profiles (African American, Asian, Hispanic (Mexican), Middle Eastern, & Russian); she offers workshops & consultation

Hoaxbusters whenever you get a forwarded e-mail warning, how you can get free money, etc. visit this site to see if it's a certified hoax; this site is a public service of the CIAC team & the US Department of Energy

Symantec: Security Response learn about the newest viruses, trojans, worms, & more so you can protect yourself; from the Norton AntiVirus software company

McAfee this is another antivirus software company that offers information about viruses, etc.--also look at their "Virus Information Library"

OT Job Link from AOTA you can post your resume and view job postings; they have many great articles as well as the OT & OTA salary survey results

Florida Occupational Therapy Association (FOTA) from their homepage, check out "Job Opportunities," "Seeking Employment," & "FOTA FOCUS" (their newsletter); although you don’t need to be a member to view them, I strongly encourage you to become one. FOTA membership is not expensive; you get nice benefits from membership, such as being on their members-only listserv, where additional job opportunities may be posted

EurasiaHealth Knowledge Network: Multilingual Library there are records for different types of materials--pamphlets, questionnaires, videos, etc. of which SOME are on line fulltext in PDF format. Choose a Language and click on Search; DON'T limit by Type of Material because it won't retrieve much. Languages include: Albanian, Armenian, Belarusian, Bosnian, Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Georgian, Hungarian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Romanian-Moldovan, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Ukranian, & Uzbek. These materials cover many physical and some mental health topics.

Easy-to-Read Publications low-literacy handouts are in English and Spanish on many health topics; from the Food and Drug Administration.

Neurofibromatosis in Other Languages patient education handouts in Arabic, Belgium French and Canadian French and Switzerland French, Flemish, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Columbian and Spain Spanish, Danish, Finnish, German, Italian, Norwegian, Japanese, and Swedish.

SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) retired, successful executives will council you about your business for free; I highly recommend them
