PHOTOS TAKEN OF THE SCHNOBS TONICA GAME

WINTER WAR 1997

The following are pictures taken of a 54mm game run by the SCHNOBS at Winter War 1997. This was the last of the bring everything you had games we ran and by this point there was almost too much stuff. Rich Bliss did most of the organization of the game and plotted movement on an Illinos map. We met around Tonica. This is also called the Battle of the Five Wally's. Present on the battfield are Vallye of Zapadslava, Vallye Monopthamos, Walleye, The one true false Vallye and Volley. All photos are by Rich Bliss.

A shot of the entire board. On the right were Prissia, United Provences, Penury, Walti Arabia, and Lucentia. On the Left were Djafra, Monrovia, Plutonia, and Zaposlava. The players of Djafra, Plutonia and Penury are also visible in the picture. Since the SCHNOBS run many games at the convention a number of the troops were run by volunteers.

The Prissian Army. The Prissians faced the Djafrans which were reinforced by the Monrovians. Overall the Prissians sadly fared poorly. Leading to rumors that Walleye (had jumped into the Illinois River and swum back to Prissia). Walleye is positioned next to the Prissian King with his lovely wife holding the famous Hook and Line banner of the revolution.

The Plutonian army. What can you say about a bunch of guys who glow in the dark? Note the Plutonian battle flag with the portrait of their never immodest ruler. Vallye Monopthalmos is just visible next to the house in the center of the picture.

The army of Lucentia. Also visible is the Walti Arabian Camel Corps. Not visible are the very stealthy Walti Arabian light infantry (actually plastic Cacti with Rifles).

The army of Lucentia advancing on the Zapadslavan hoardes. If you look closely you can see the polo mallets of the Zapadslavan guard. The Prissian Advanced guard is also in the picture holding a woods against bucketloads of the enemy.

More of Lucentia vs Zapadslava. The Zapadslavan guard with mallets is in the middle of the picture.

The Monrovians on a hill.

The Liberacian colored army of the United Provinces swarms upon the Monrovian infantry much like a savage rabbit.
