I traveled to Addis Ababa of Ethiopia for a convention in March 1998.
That was the first time I landed on African soil.
But I did not feel alien at all. It remained me of China of twenty years ago.

This was a beautiful scarf I found at the Addis airport
but I did not buy since I generally think that airport
is a rip off place. Late I did not find it anywhere in Ethiopia.
It was designed by the most famous Ethiopian artist.
Now I regretted that I went too far to save a few bucks.
