A native of England, Henry Robinson was working
as Carpenter in Clinton County during the summer of 1862. He enlisted
in company G on July 28, 1862 at Detroit. He was older than most
of the "boys" at 30. He was mustered into service on
August 13, 1862.
Henry was wounded in the head during operations at Fitzhugh Crossing, part of the Chancellorsville campaign. His wound was severe enough to prevent him from returning to field service. He was transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps for wounds sometime in 1864. Henry Robinson was discharged at Detroit on January 25, 1865.
