Another One Bites the Dust,
Autumn 2001
In August, 2001 we made one more lurk into the Gold Shore building before it was destroyed in October, 2001. Not only our final Lurk for truly a pretty cool after-midnight hangout, this was also our last lurk for a LONG time, following the events which transpired about two weeks later on 11 September. At left is the view of the property after the demolition. Below is a scene of the wrecking ball at work, largely the device implemented to remove this structure. At the top of our page is an original playing card, salvaged from the Gold Shore casino.
After midnight, 12 August 2001, the Lurkers leave the Gold shore casino building via the emergency stairs in what is probably the last photograph ever taken from inside.
