Welcome to Aikido in Singapore -- a Singapore-based open and public Internet email discussion list for anyone interested in Aikido, a Japanese martial art. -- We welcome all beginners, the curious and experienced instructors.
The creation of this website in June 2002 is just to act as a simple gateway for anyone who wishes to find out more about Aikido in Singapore. It also supports the Yahoo! Groups mailing list.
This list aims to act as a focal point where anyone and everyone can ask, learn and share their daily thoughts, Aikido experience and insights. It was fashioned after the success of Aikido-L, another popular list, which currently has over 400 subscribers. The idea is to create an additional mini Internet community here which is able to cater directly to the topic, needs, language and environment found in Singapore. (Some of us know how Singlish can play a part here ;P.)
It's easy to subscribe and best of all, it's FREE. All you need is an email account and just follow the given instructions below.
What you should know before you subscribe with us.
We respectfully ask (and insist) that your participation and contributions be one of common courtesy and mutual respect. Share information and opinions but please avoid flaming and move such postings onto private email instead.
To prevent the spread of viruses and unnecessary flooding, sending HTML-based emails and external attachments are disabled for member postings. If there are files which you would like to disseminate, send a private email to the list owner / moderators and these may be uploaded onto the website. Discussions here are un-moderated. But the list's moderators reserve all rights to exclude (ie, remove or unsubscribe) any content and person who violates the spirit of mutual respect.
Information provided here is far from complete and will be constantly updated. Major changes may be disseminated through the mail list to members as time goes on. Please feel free to email us your comments and what you hope to see on this site.
