Subject: Gokyu requirements?

Hi all,
Had my gokyu last week and it started me wondering; what requirements
are on the list at other dojos for this test?  I saw a list online somewhere
that had mostly the same techniques, but no suwariwaza stuff at all.  What's
it like at your dojo?

Hi David.

In my dojo the gokyu requirements are:

Ki tests/exercises:

1. Hanmi no kamae
2. Banzai no kamae
3. Zengo undo
4. Happo undo
5. Tekubikosa undo
6. Basic bokken kamae
7. Bokken/Jo suburi

Techniques:

1. Shomen uchi kote gaeshi
2. Shomen uchi ikkyo
3. Kata te tori sankyo
4. Yokomen uchi soku men irimi nage
5. Munetski kote gaeshi
6. Kata te tori kaite nage

AFAIK they come from the AAA. Now that my dojo's affiliation is turning to UKA there might be some changes (1-2 techniques more for each kyu, more bokken/jo techniques etc) but I am not sure yet. In yesterday's exams they added one technique to the 6th kyu, 2-3 to the 4th (no 5ths), and more to 2nd-1st kyus.

Hope this helps
Gri
