Anybody on the list practice Aikido and Tai Chi at the same time?

Do the arts clash?

What do you think practicing both are doing to you mentally?

Hello
i am presently studying aikido and taichi and i would like to think they compliment each other. (maybe time will tell). I have been studying taichi for two years, and just under a year in aikido. Both seem to be a system for self defense, but i have found that to look at them that way you are missing the bigger picture.

Both have the element of chi/ki, both advocate never attacking.  alot of the postures seem to interelate.  I have also studied chinese kickboxing and taekwon-do, and this seems the case there also.

Both seem to stress proper body posture to maximise effectiveness of technique, and not brute strength.  Power coming from the centre. But these are personal views.

As for what it is doing to me mentally, well i've never needed to use any of my training, so mentally it must be doing some good! I don't think i'm mad,
well not fully :)

regards
mark

I've done both for 7 years and tai chi longer than that.  They compliment each other quite nicely.
