What are the most common styles of Iaido practiced in Canada?

Where are they practiced?

Well I'll take a stab at this since I'm online, starting from the east coast the Halifax kendo club does or did some iaido, ZNKR most likely, but probably Muso Shinden-ryu. I think Gary Hall is still practicing in the same area, MJER under the Roshukai (Iwata sensei).

Quebec iaido under the CKF is Muso Shinden Ryu from Danzaki to Fred Okimura sensei. Also in Montreal we have the Jikishinkai MJER style of T.
Miura sensei under Kuniko Kinoshita sensei.

There is also some iaido in a couple of different places through Takeshi Mitsuzuka sensei (M. Kanai sensei) which is Muso Shinden Ryu.

I believe there's also a club doing Katori Shinto-ryu in Montreal but don't know if they're doing iaido or not.

In Ontario we have Muso Shinden Ryu (Danzaki sensei), Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu of the CKF (Ohmi sensei) and of the ZNIR (2 branches there at
least, Eizaka/ZNIR and Kai sensei) and Mugai Ryu.

Across the praries we have some MJER and MSR I believe, and for sure some MJER in Alberta.

In BC we have MJER of the CKF (Ohmori/Iwata sensei) and the ZNIR (Eizaka sensei)  and we used to have some MSR but I don't know if that club is still active.

Population wize, across the entire country I'd make a guess that MJER is the most populous, with MSR coming in big too. The other styles are single
clubs mostly.

And amazingly enough, we all talk to each other, practice with each other, taunt and tease each other... just like family.

Hope that helps some
Kim.
