Practicing at home alone

Another penguin question and no, it's not about learning aikido from tapes
and books. I'd like to ask the people on the list if and how they train _in
between_ dojo training days.
In my case, I can only do go there twice a week so 4-5 days can pass up to
the session the following week. I feel I need to supplement the practice
but, as you know better, it takes two to tango, ummm, fall. Since I'm a
newbie, practicising the basic techniques (body movements, turns, elbow
power and so on) is probably the most sensible thing to do.
What have you found as a useful practice at home?
Thanks,
The waddling A.P.

Tai sabaki can be practiced anywhere: my favorite is entering empty
elevators at parking garages: tenkan in and tsuki to the proper floor
button :-)
If you are training in weapons, there are cuts or solo kata to do.
If you are pretty sure of a technique you can try doing it slowly alone,
feeling the angles and stuff.

I practice Tai Sabaki, Ukemi (on the carpet), sword, and shadow waza at
least 2 hours every weekend.
