About me, my capability, and my services
I am a U.S. citizen living in Southern Utah. My native language is English, and I have also lived in Germany (about 2-1/2 years), Japan (about 18 months), and Mexico (about 2-1/2 years). I have worked as a language teacher in all four countries, and I have also worked on a freelance basis as a court interpreter and a documents translator. In addition, I have two years' experience in an academic publishing center working with HTML documents and other forms of electronic publishing and am very familiar with the user interfaces for most Internet protocols.
I have good access to e-mail (including programs with attachment capabilities for formatted documents), the World Wide Web, an HTML editor, and common word-processing, spreadsheet, and database programs including those used for German, Spanish, and Japanese. I am very familiar with converting files between formats, sending them via e-mail, and publishing them on the World Wide Web.
I currently have enough time to dedicate to major and minor projects. My rates are quite reasonable. (Payment can easily be made to me with U.S. Dollar checks or postal money orders sent to my U.S. bank.) Document delivery can be made through the mail or via e-mail. Urgent translation orders can also be faxed back to the customer. I should mention that I find it very important personally to provide the best possible services for my customers. I take pride in communicating as accurately as possible between cultures. Please let me know right away of possibilities for this kind of work for you or your organization. For those of you residing in the area around St. George, Utah, I offer classes in Spanish, German, and English as a second language. I also offer personalized help for people wanting to understand Internet procedures and/or general computing better.
One of my specialties is helping people to organize the programs and files on their PC for easy access, to learn Windows tips and tricks, and to put together personalized help files and searchable reference notes.
In language learning, I like to teach people how to study and practice a new language so that they can truly master the ability to communicate in other cultures.
