Spheres [Focus]: Correspondence 4 [Computer], Entropy 1 [Data], Forces 2 [Electronics], Life 3 [Data], Mind 5 [Authority], Prime 2 [Protective Gear], Spirit (Dimensional Science) [Tecknology] 4. Arete: 5 Willpower: 10 Quintessence: 3 (Agent Donovan does not store Quintessence in his pattern, as he suspects most of the Technocracy's sources have been tainted) Paradox: 0 (Digital Web Paradox: 2-5) Image: If an alien were to create a model of the archetypal human being, but stopped just short of finishing, the result might look like Agent Donovan. This Man in White stands precisely two meters tall, with an 'average' mesomorphic build, and perfectly non-descript features. Only the peculiarly flawless whiteness of his skin, and his lack of facial or body hair betray his origin. Agent Donovan is an Awakened Man in Black. He started life a scant 10 years ago, a simple functionary who's sole purpose was to serve the New World Order. He returned from posing as a Void Engineer Acolyte on a journey into the Deep Universe (a routine infiltration and surveillance assignment), fully Awakened, and with a remarkable knowledge of Dimensional Science (he does not speak of his experiences on that mission, and the NWO files on the incident are sealed). Agent Donovan was quickly promoted through the ranks of the Internal Investigations Division, and is currently the highest ranking operative in that organization. The fact that he did not have the experience or power for such a position was not lost on him: he knows he has been set up to fail. He believes that the Technocracy has been corrupted at the highest levels, that those who promoted him are the very ones he's after. Of course, he needs proof - irrefutable proof. Agent Donovan is in an unusual position for a Technocrat. His responsibilities have nothing to do with Reality Deviants unless they originate within, or infiltrate, the ranks of the Technocracy. Thus he can afford to take a cautiously neutral stance towards Tradition mages whom he feels may be useful to him. He has on several occasions been able to make use of Errant mages, Orphans, or others who are desperate or optimistic enough to throw in with a Technomancer, and even used a pack of Garou against a Syndicate Construct that had been compromised by Pentex agents. He would likely use similar tactics again when he finds corruption within the Technocracy that he lacks the evidence or authority to move against. Though he has the pragmatic ethics of a Man in Black, Donovan has acquired a more human perspective in his Awakening, and he can be trusted to an extent. Talisman: Agent Donovan carries a Covert Sanction Implement 10017/S, a non-metallic composite swordcane rendered virtually undetectable to technological scanners and magickal senses (4 successes on Per+Awareness if specifically examined with Matter or Prime sensing). It contains 9 Quintessence. Cynthia Singer Nature: Judge Demeanor: Conformist Essence: Questing Attributes: Strength 2, Dexterity 3, Stamina 3, Charisma 4 (Likeable), Manipulation 2, Appearance 4 (Beautiful), Perception 3, Intelligence 4 (Memory), Wits 3. Abilities: Alertness 2, Awareness 1, Brawl 2, Computer 3, Dodge 3, Drive 2, Enigmas 1, Expression 3, Firearms 3, Medicine 2, Meditation 2, Research 3, Stealth 2 Science 4 (Astronomy), Technology 3. Backgrounds: Avatar 2, Destiny 1, Talisman 3. Spheres [Focus]: Correspondence 1 [Astronomy], Mind 1 [Telemetry], Life 1 [Telemetry], Spirit [Dimensional Science] 1. Arete: 1 Willpower: 5 Quintessence: 2 Paradox: 0 Image: Cadet Cynthia Singer is a newly recruited, barley Awakened, Void Engineer. Her first mission into the Deep Universe ended tragically in a spacial-temporal anomaly (Paradox Realm). It is not known for certain whether the senior members of her Amalgam were trapped in the anomaly or if they have perhaps defected to the Traditions or used the opportunity for unsanctioned exploration. She is currently under investigation by internal affairs, and has been re-assigned to low-priority Digital Web duty. Singer is a bright, attractive, pleasant young woman. She has definite potential as both a leader and a mage. Whether those potentials will be allowed to develop is another matter. Cynthia has no idea that she is being investigated, and has actually had some contact with Tradition Technomancers while on the Web. If the Technocracy comes down on her, she will be looking for help from any quarter. Talisman: Cadet C. Singer is armed with a somewhat out-of-date 4mm Energetic Pellet Projector, that looks and functions a bit like the 'Sandman Guns' from the movie Logan's Run (Diff 7, Dam 9, Range 20, Rate 3, Clip 15 (Magnesium-trimagnasite pellets - 1 Tass ea.), Conceal J, uses Firearms skill & rules). She also wears a dark blue uniform of VE Ionic Cloth. Dr. Waters Nature: Caregiver Demeanor: Follower or Judge (to the Masses) Essence: Pattern Attributes: Strength 2, Dexterity 3, Stamina 3, Charisma 3, Manipulation 3, Appearance 2, Perception 3, Intelligence 4 (), Wits 3. Abilities: Alertness 2, Athletics 2, Awareness 3, Brawl 3, Computer 2, Cosmology 2, Dodge 4 (While Shapechanging), Drive 2, Expression 3, Medicine 5 (Adaptive Therapy), Meditation 2, Research 4 (Medical), Stealth 2, Science 3, Technology 4 (Medical). Backgrounds: Arcane 2, Resources 2, Node 5 Spheres [Focus]: Life 4 [Medicine], Mind 2 [Hypnosis], Prime 3 [Hypodermic], Spirit [Diagnostic Tests] 3. Arete: 4 Willpower: 8 Quintessence: 12 Paradox: 3 Image: Doctor Waters is a mature white woman, in her 40's, she always dresses in the classic white lab coat and conservative clothes. Her sandy, greying hair, oversize glasses, and slight build give her an unassuming, but intelligent look. Dr. Waters is a visiting specialist. She has been assigned to a rotating detail covering many different hospitals in Northern California, that are not actual constructs. Her territory includes that virtual no-man's-land of the Ascension War, Santa Clara "Silicon" Valley (the area is so hotly contested by the Virtual Adepts and the Conventions, that it's considered 'hazardous duty'). She is allowed to work with or experiment on patients as she sees fit, but her primary work is the collection of quintessence from chronic patients (from which she 'skims' her 'Node' background). It is also her responsibility to report Reality Deviants that she comes across during her rounds, and recruit promising (near Awakening) subjects into the Progenitors. Though she is loyal to the Technocracy, Waters is disenchanted with her work - she is very much the classic doctor, and wants to help people. She has ample opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the Masses, but is disappointed that she must do so on her own time, and feels it should be her primary responsibility. She feels a certain personal rivalry with Iteration X, and tries to steer potential It-X recruits (ie the physically disabled) away from cybernetics. She has become quite adept at physical and 'adaptive' therapy, as a result. Given her ambivalence, Waters is sometimes inclined to give medical assistance (even to the point of healing Aggravated wounds) to the Awakened without regard for faction, as long as there is no apparent, direct conflict with the Technocracy going on. This ambivalence does not extend to Vampires, Euthanotos, or Nephandi and the like. Vampires - blood-sucking parasites that they are - horrify her (in part because of the parallel between their feeding habits and her duties as a quintessence collector). Euthanotos, of course, have at times killed 'hopeless' patients that Waters was working on curing with her 'advanced medical techniques' - so she has no sympathy for them whatsoever. Nephandi, it goes without saying, are unacceptable, and Dr. Waters has the skill with Spirit magick to spot them. Armature AF9D 001C Nature: Conniver Demeanor: Visionary Essence: Pattern Attributes: Strength 4 (Grip), Dexterity 4 (Mechanical Precision), Stamina 5 (Untiring), Charisma 2, Manipulation 4 (Authoritative), Appearance 2, Perception 2, Intelligence 3, Wits 3. Abilities: Alertness 2, Athletics 3, Awareness 4 (Spot Potential), Computer 4 (Cybernetics), Dodge 2, Drive 2, Firearms 3, Intimidation 3, Law 3, Medicine 4 (Cybernetics), Subterfuge 4 (Inscrutable), Science 4 (Cybernetics), Technology 5 (Cybernetics). Backgrounds: Resources 4. Spheres [Focus]: Correspondence 1 [Cyber-eye], Entropy 1 [Cyber- eye], Forces 2 [Electro-Magnetic Actuator (left arm)], Mind 1 [CPU], Time 2 [CPU]. Arete: 2 Willpower: 7 Quintessence: 0 Paradox: 3 (Permanent - implants aren't readily apparent) Image: Armature AF9D 001C is a loyal member of Iteration X. Though he is extremely skilled with the mundane technologies used by his convention, he has found his progress though the ranks frustratingly slow. Of course, it is his relative lack of enlightenment that is holding him back, but, the Conventions dogma generally precludes frank discussions of such things. AF9D is thus trapped, continuing to hone his Abilities to no useful purpose and growing increasingly frustrated and unpleasant. The Armature appears to be a perfectly normal, average, mature man. Because of his extensive knowledge, he usually poses as a doctor or scientist. His primary duty is the identification and recruitment of potential Cyphers, and he is very good at his job. But, if he stumbles upon the activities of Reality Deviants, he will certainly try to monitor or organize an attack against them. He is aching for advancement, and is likely to take risks if he thinks he can make 'points' bringing in a dangerous deviant or valuable information. In combat, the Armature has an opportunity to vent his resentment, and uses all his cybernetics to maximum effect. He favours a complex conjunctional Correspondence/Entropy/Mind/Time effect to enhance his combat performance - the effect grants him 360-degree sensing, extra HLs of Damage with his attacks, and reduced attack and dodge difficulties (each 1 per success). If pressed, he will also use Forces to shock opponents. =================================================================
