Freedom Force chases Cable to Manhattan, where both helicopters go down into the East River after an exchange of gunfire. Cable swims to shore and is pursued by his previous captors into the city. Cannonball, Sunspot, and Boomer make a trip to buy a good-bye present for Rhane and end up witnessing Freedom Force and Cable's struggle in an alley. They rush to help Cable and together they defeat Freedom Force. Back on X-Factor's ship, Moira has come to take Wolfsbane home, but Rictor and Warlock distract her until the others get back. The others arrive back at the mansion with Cable who apparently knows Moira. He convinces her to let Wolsbane stay under his direction and recruits the team to join him in his struggle against the MLF and Stryfe. Since their school was destroyed and Magneto left them, they agreed, but Rictor does not trust Cable for undisclosed, personal reasons.
