Wolfsbane and Cable are practicing in the danger room when Cable runs a holographic image of a giant clown that freaks out
Rhane. She flashes back to a carnival in Kentucky that she visited with the team near Sam's home. Rhane is given a stuffed
bear Boom Boom won for her, but it turns out to be a device which drains her strength, so she is taken to the medical tent.
There she and Rictor are knocked out by the nurse and some clown who turn out to be Skrull operatives looking to make The
New Mutants into slaves. Wolfsbane and Rictor are shrunk and encased with other humans in a glass box. The others soon find
out something is wrong when a Skrull tries to grab Boomer, and a miniature Wolfsbane and Rictor break out and begin to grow
again before their eyes. Even the circus animals turn out to be Skrull agents and the team must fight for their freedom
against unmatched odds. Just at the right moment the ever threatening police show up and the Skrull are eaily scared off,
converting the carnival into a space ship and heading back to their planet. (Thank God for the police). Cable consoles Rhane
about her fear and we are done with this lame excuse for a story.
