Kane finds himself in the middle of a MLF safehouse and surrounded. The only thing to do is fight ! Using his advanced biotech weapons, he takes out the lesser members then confronts Stryfe who takes off this helmet to reveal the face of Cable to the shock of Kane. Stryfe confirms that he is both Cable and Stryfe and tells Kane how foolish he is. Kane questions how he could see both of them fighting each other to which Stryfe answers in riddles before knocking out Kane with one swift armor fisted blow. Kane wakes up back in Canada near Department H. Inside General Clarke's office he is introduced to another man who also has a grudge to settle with Cable--Rictor.

"X-ternals: a prologue"

Gideon flies to the Swiss Alps where he meets with Saul, Nicodemus, Burke, and Absalom (The other High Lords). He is chided by Saul for wasting their time by recruiting the wrong person. Gideon says he now knows who it should have been. He plans to call in Crule, another high lord, to eliminate his target. They discuss the possibilities of the plan and Nicodemus asks what will become of Sunspot, since he is not the High Lord. Gideon answers that he will soon meet his death

Cable welcomes Cannonball back from the dead then dispatches the team to find the remaining Brotherhood members, lock up Thorin, take the bodies of Sauron and Masque to the morgue and for Sam to come with him. He checks him out with the medical equipment and explains that he truly returned from the dead. He tells Sam for the first time that he is an immortal, a High Lord, or an External. He goes on to tell him that he suspected it all along and that he was one of the main reasons for Cable's interest in the group, hinting that Sam could be Earth's last hope. He suspects that Gideon is also an External who took Roberto by mistake. Boomer comes in to report that the rest of the Brotherhood escaped and that the team is awaiting their next orders. Cable decides they will pay a visit to the Morlocks with Masque's head on a skewer to warn them never to cross X-Force again. Later Sam and Boomer discuss Sam's new found life. She confirms that he truly was dead and they ponder his and perhaps their future.
