Opens with Sunspot being interrogated by the NYPD on the death of Gideon and the externals (last issue). Sunspot is recalling the end of the battle. Selene arrived and drained the life force from Absalom. The team tried to stop her with no avail. Sunspot is accused of killing Gideon because of his hatred of him. Sunspot is then escorted out and Siryn is brought in. She tells her side of the story. Siryn had heard an explosion coming from the penthouse and went looking for Warpath but he was missing. Shatterstar is brought in next and he is shown a file which consist of pictures of him with a different name, Benjamin! Next Domino is interrogated but refuses to speak which makes the cops angry. Meltdown is next and she is showing of her powers and is being cocky. She describes Crule's death by Selene. Selene had drained Crule's life force when Cable intervened and stopped her. She tried to drain Cable's life force and is unable to because it is tainted. X-Force the hit Selene with everything they had but this does nothing. Selene created a backlash which knocked everybody unconscious except for Meltdown. Selene goes on to explain her actions by stating that the externals have out lived their purpose. She goes to say that there is only one left besides her. Meltdown goes on to defend Cannonball but Selene stops her and says the Sam is not an external. Selene then left and Blaquesmith arrived and teleports Cable away. The police arrived and arrested X-Force. Later the team is left to go and Detective Jones warns Domino that things are getting bad. In the garage parking lot Detective Jones is confronted by an unknown man.
