In the X-Men's mansion, Mr Sinister has attacked and defeated Nate Grey and most of X-Force. As Domino confronts Sinister alone, Caliban is overcome by programming placed in him by Apocalypse when he was reconstructed. Uncontrollable, he savagely attacks Sinister and astonishingly holds his own. Domino uses the time to trigger the self-destruct system and flee with X-Force and Nate. Meanwhile, Warpath and Risque arrive at the mansion, having heard about the Sentinel attack on New York. Seeing the signs of battle, Warpath goes in, and Risque insists on joining him. Meanwhile, X-Force have become separated; while Meltdown comforts the distressed Caliban, Nate Grey uses the last of his powers - mainly blocked by Mr Sinister - to read the Askani teachings from Sunspot's mind. With those teachings, he is able to overcome Sinister's mental block and regain his full powers. X-Force, Nate and Risque regroup and attack Sinister; Risque recognises him, but muses that she had not expected to encounter him "this soon." Sinister is baffled by the presence of Risque, a mutant whom he has not catalogued. He tricks Nate into reading his mind to prove his good intentions against Apocalypse, but it proves to be a trap; the psionic energy from the psi-probe feeds back and knocks out all apart from Sinister, who picks up Nate and leaves.
