Shatterstar is locked in an observation room, being questioned repeatedly by Cable about his true identity. The rest of the team asks that Shatterstar be let out. While they have their discussion, Shatterstar sits doubting his own existence, when Rictor enters the room. 'Star is overjoyed at seeing his best friend again. meanwhile, Cable reveals to the team that he wants to discover Shatterstar's identity, so that an event like the Onslaught affair wouldn't be repeated.

As the team prepares to leave their new bunker base in upstate New York, Siryn and Warpath have a heated discussion over Risque. Pulling Warpath aside, Cable tells him that they will search for Risque after the truth of Shatterstar has been revealed.

Policewoman Charlotte Jones, Archangel's former lover, looks for the police file on Benjamin Russell, but can't find it. She leaves the preceinct and meets with an undercover Cable, who asks her about the file. Charlotte reveals that both the file on Ben Russell and on the X-force team (from their recent arrest) are missing. she expresses her concern for all of mutantkind.

Aboard the Pacrat, Cable and domino discuss the missing files, and suspect that either Operation: Zero Tolerance or Gamesmaster is responsible. Meanwhile, Rictor tells the rest of the team that he is ready to rejoin.

X-Force arrives at the Weisman Institute for the Criminally Insane, which has been mysteriously abandoned. While searching the building, Gog and Magog (two of Mojo's most prominent soldiers) spy on them from a distance.

After finding nothing, the team flies the Pacrat away from the institute, as the ship is suddenly attacked--from the inside. Gog and Magog burst into the main compartment, and Rictor and Sunspot blast their energy, causing further chaos, and damaging the ship's internal components. Gog and Magog grab Shatterstar and disappear through a dimensional portal, which Cable pursues them through, just before it closes. The rest of the team are in the damaged ship, which spirals to the ground. At the last possible second, the ship turns away from the ground, crashing down hazardously. The team wonders if Domino's powers were responsible for the save, but instead, they turn their attention to a figure sitting at the ship's controls--Longshot, the born-lucky mutant!
