As the next fight in the Arena begins, a dwarf steps into the Arena.
His skin, what little of it isn't covered by his armor, seems covered in
battle-scars. From under his dented steel helmet, straggly red hair sticks
out. His red beard has been carefully worked into twin braids. In his
hands he holds a well-used battle-axe, and a hammer dangles from each wrist.

Stepping through the doors at the other side of the Arena is the ogre
mage, Throm. The master archer stands just over 10' tall, and wears a suit
of worn leather armor. In his hand is a giant's bow, looking to be about 7
feet long. An arrow is knocked and ready. The bow has obviously been made
for him; no normal man could use a weapon as large. He has a quiver on his
back, and another attached to his belt. Also on his belt is a short sword,
unadorned and obviously less used than his bow.

As the announcer calls for the fight to begin, Throm looses his arrow,
sending it arcing at his opponent 450 feet away. Looking up, Rinac can just
make out the arrow, but it's hard to tell where it's going to land. Within
seconds it hits it's mark, slamming into the ground between Rinac's feet.

Reaching down, Rinac pulls the arrow from the ground. The arrow is just
about the size of the dwarven warrior. Holding it by one end, Rinac spins
once and launches it back across the Arena. The arrow once again arcs
across the Arena, finally slamming into the ground a mere ten feet away from
Throm.

With a slight sneer on his face, Rinac looks across to his opponent, in
time to see him lowering his bow. Too late he looks up to see the incoming
arrows. The first two slam into his legs, with enough force behind them to
send him stumbling back. They are quickly followed by two more, which stab
through his arms. By this time he is staggering from the impact. The next
arrows come in rapid succession, all slamming into the dwarf's chest. It's
hard to tell which one kills him, but after about the sixth one, he
collapses backwards onto the ground. Two more arrows fly through where he
once stood, colliding with the wall behind him.

As the judges declare Throm the winner, he picks up the arrow Rinac
through back, then walks across to retrieve the others.
