The Games of Saberhaven
News on the Streets
September - December 1998
- (12/28/98) The mighty dwarf warrior
Akira conceded his third round
fight to the elven archer Orellwyn after most of the dwarf's possessions
were destroyed.
- (12/27/98) In a bit of irony,
a shock to Arena goers and to the dismay of Queen Freebird, the King
of the Winged Folk, King Nighthawk, was turned to stone by the half-dragon
Prince Kroobor. After turning his highness to stone, Kroobor smashed
him into a hundred pieces. The Winged Folk kingdom is in turmoil.
- (10/18/98) King Nighthawk turned
his opponent Laereth, the asimaar psi-warrior, to stone. No word yet
on the revival of the plane walker.
- (10/7/98) Retired head of Saberhaven
City's Association of Problem Eliminators Mallor Dunadan was completely
melted by acid in a first round Arena combat with Jerin Xalvix yi E'trius.
Word on the street already has a price on the druid's head.
- (9/24/98) In the fastest recorded
Arena combat in history, the dark elf mage Flag stopped time around
his opponent Ivan and sucked his soul from him. So continues the rivalry
between Powers of the Dark and the Dark Ones.
- (9/9/98) The anti-paladin/assassin
Tamar, loyal to the feared Dukes of Hell on Earth, was decapitated in
an Arena combat with Gunnar Overdark. Said Tamar's mentor Lord Blix,
"You're dead Gunnar!"
